Program Titian Digital 2012 Centralised Committee Meeting was held on 28th October 2012 at Dewan Kuliah 3 Faculty of Engineering, University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
School Management, Parents and Teacher Association Leaders, Representative of School Board , Vendor and Program Titian Digital team members attended the meeting.
Program Titian Digital (PTD) an ICT literacy project aimed to reduce digital divide among under served school children are expanding to 20 new Tamil schools. PTD, a community initiative currently conducting weekly ICT literacy classes at 30 labs to some 13,000 students anticipate the number to reach 24,000 by year end upon completion of this new labs.
State of Johor, Perak and Kedah gets five new labs each, two each at Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur and one ICT lab at Selangor.

Program Titian Digital technical partner , Nexus NGN Sdn Bhd Managing Director Ir Dr M Saravanan presented a paper at Gopio International Convention at Kuala Lumpur from 21-22 April 2012 .
SJKT Highlands , Klang PTD ICT Lab opening ceremony was held on 22nd April 2012. Present at the event was YB Dr A Xavier Jayakumar, Yb Charles Santiago , YB Dr Siti Mariah and YB Ronnie Liu.
We deliver what we promised and not by simply announcing and later not doing anything said Selangor Exco member, Dr Xavier Jayakumar during the official opening of the Program Titian Digital ICT Lab at SRJK(T) Valambarosa, Kapar.
Dr Xavier said that the tamil schools are close to their heart and the Selangor government had distributed RM16 million since taking over the state administration in 2008.
“We don’t want to channel the money through political and all our funds goes straight to the schools Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) bank account,” said Xavier.
According to Dr Xavier, 30 ICT labs each costing RM 85,000.00 would be build by end 2012.
Speaking at the same event, Kapar MP S Manickavasagam thanked Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and Dr Xavier for allocating funds to set up the ICT labs in the three tamil schools.
He further praised the school headmasters and PTA for taking bold steps in inviting them to the event and requesting the school headmaster and teachers to increase the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) exam passing rate from current 37% to at least 55%.
Program Titian Digital (PTD) ICT Literacy is a community initiative that assists school Parent and Teacher Association to continuously conduct ICT classes while reducing digital divide between rural and urban school children.
PTD provides free training to ICT tutors, free ICT student guides and works with the school to deliver the required ICT knowledge to ensure no student were left behind.
Also present at the event was Selangor PAS commissioner Dr Rani Osman, who is also the Meru state assemblyperson.
